The Vaux's Swift is a small swift that is found on the western U.S., Canada and Mexico coasts. They are also found in Central America and northern Venezuela. We see them in the S.F. Bay area when they are migrating. Then it is a great sight to see thousands of them coming in at twilight to nest in a chimney for the night. Vaux's Swift feed on flying insects such as wasps, termites and flying ants.
