The Green Heron is a small heron found in North America and northern
South America.
It is a subspecies of the Green-backed Heron Butorides striata.
They are found in wetlands in low-lying areas.
They sometimes can be hard to spot because they like to hide in
vegetation along the shoreline.
While there is a hint of green on their back, they are more noticeable because
of the rust colored neck.

Green Herons are one of the few tool using birds.
They drop insects and other small objects on the water to attract fish.
