<i>Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, CA.</i> <p> The Big Morongo Canyon Preserve is in Southern California near Joshua Tree National Park. It is considered an important birding site. </p> <p> While I was there in mid-February, I saw many birds including: Ladder-backed Woodpeckers, California Thrasher, White-breasted Nuthatch, Oak Titmouse, Cactus Wren, Bushtits, Bewick's Wren, Verdin, Anna's Hummingbird, Goldfinches, House Finches, Northern Mockingbird, etc. It is a great place to stop on the way to the northern entrance to Joshua Tree. </p> <p> <iframe width="425" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=104256419760424276948.0004692ad68f9d6cd12f2&ll=36.562446,-119.48968&spn=6.119281,7.149923&output=embed"></iframe><br /><small>View <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=104256419760424276948.0004692ad68f9d6cd12f2&ll=36.562446,-119.48968&spn=6.119281,7.149923&source=embed" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">Favorite Birding Places</a> in a larger map</small> </p>
