The Eastern Towhee is very similar to the Spotted Towhee and they used to be considered of the same
species.
They have a black head, chest, back, black wings with white edges, rust colored sides and a white belly.
Their bill is dark and conical shaped.
Their eyes are red except in the southeast are pale yellow.
Females are similar but the they are brown instead of black.

Eastern Towhees mostly inhabit eastern U.S., but I have seen them near Galveston, Texas.
