The Ring-necked Duck is a diving duck and is found in North and Central America.
They are similar in
coloration to the Tufted Duck.
The Ring-necked Duck has a peaked head instead of a head tuft.
The Ring-necked also has a white ring at the base of the bill.

They eat aquatic plants as well as some mollusks, aquatic insects and
small fish.
