Sanderlings breed in the artic of North America and Asia. They winter in the coastal areas of North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia.

A Sanderling is about the same size as a Dunlin which makes it much larger than a peep. This makes them easier to spot since they like to flock with Sandpipers. Sanderlings feed by probing with their beaks looking for aquatic invertebrates.
