The Bald Eagle is the second largest raptor in North American after the Golden Eagle. Males and females are identical in plumage, but the female is about 25% larger.

While an uncommon bird in the Bay Area, there has been a nesting pair south of Fremont, CA. Bald Eagles mainly feed on fish, but they may eat carrion, rabbits, hares, etc. They also eat birds such as grebes, ducks, gulls, etc.
