The Cliff Swallow breeds in North America. A good place to see them and get fairly close is at the Hayward Regional Shoreline. They nest near the Interpretive Center and farther down the path at a small bridge. Cliff Swallows build their nests from mud. It is interesting to see them gathering the mud at Hayward.
