The Gila Woodpecker is found in the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. It mostly build nests in holes of saguaro cacti or mesquite trees. They are omnivores and will eat flowers and fruits of saguaros and other cacti and plants, insects, other animals and bird eggs.
