One of the most beautiful birds found in the S.F. Bay Area, Great Egrets are quite widespread. They are the symbol of the National Audubon Society. They feed on fish, frogs, or insects by spearing them with their long bill. Both sexes are similar. In the breeding season (Feb-July), the tail feathers are longer.
