Butorides virescens Length: 25"

The Green Heron is a small heron. It is found in wetlands in low-lying areas. They sometimes can be hard to spot because they like to hide in vegetation along the shoreline. While there is a hint of green on their back, they are more noticeable because of the rust colored neck.

I read that Green Herons are one of the few tool using birds. They drop insects and other small object on the water to attract fish.
