The Lesser Goldfinch is found mostly in the western part of the U.S. and Mexico and is the smallest North American Goldfinch. The Lesser Goldfinch has two forms. The Texas variant has more black on its head and back. They feed mostly on tree buds and weed seeds. They are also common at bird feeders.
