The Northern Saw-whet Owl is common owl in forested area in southern Canada and the U.S. It is one of the smallest owl in North America. They catch their prey at night by swooping down from their perch. They mainly eat small prey such as birds, mice, and sometimes chipmunks. Their have excellent hearing and can see in the dark quite well.
