Red-tailed Hawks seem to be the most plentiful hawk in the S.F. Bay Area. At least, I have seen more of them then any other Hawk. They are easily identified in flight by the dark mark on the leading edge of their wings.

Males & females are similar. Their diet is mice, rabbits, hares, medium sized birds, lizards, and snakes.
