The Red-whiskered Bulbul population in North America and Hawaii are from escaped cage birds. In Hawaii they are considered an invasive species. Because of their diet of fruit, vegetables, flower buds they are considered a pest of agriculture and gardens. They also aggressively chase native birds away.
