Salpinctes obsoletus
Length: 6"

Rock Wrens, besides liking rocky areas, are also found in non-rocky
areas in the western part of the U.S. and Mexico where they like
areas with crevices, passageways, etc. of diverse shapes
and sizes.
I was lucky to see one on some rocks on the S.F. Bay one day.
They eat grasshoppers, crickets, ants, leaf-hoppers, bugs, beetles
and other insects.
