The Violaceous Euphonia is in the true finch family. It is found in the eastern South America including Brazil, Paraguay and northeastern Argentina. They are sexually dimorphic with the female being a olive yellow and the male a bright yellow and blue. Their IUCN Conservation Status is 'Least Concern'
