The Gray Flycatcher breeds in mostly in western U.S. and winters in Mexico. The Gray Flycatcher is a rare visitor to the S.F. Bay Area. It was spotted in a park in the East Bay hills. Quite a few birdwatchers came to see it. The best way to identify these birds is that they wag their tail downward.
They mostly eat insects and other small invertebrates.
