The Black-collared Starling is found in Brunei, Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. They prefer open areas, including grasslands, rice stubble, cultivated fields, and stunted forests.
Diet is earthworms, grasshoppers, crickets, and some seeds.
