The Black Swan is native to Australia. The populations in the U.S. were probably escapees from Zoos, private collections, etc. The adults are all black except for the beak and a white area on their wings.
Supposedly, Black Swans can fly to speeds up to 50 miles per hour. They eat mostly vegetation and some worms and insects.
