The Burnished-buff Tanager is a common bird in South America including Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, and Argentina. They are at least seven subspecies. They are sexually dimorphic with the males have some black on their faces (and sometime extending down the belly), yellowish-orange crown, and the rest of the body blue, white, yellow and/or green. Females don't have the black and the underparts are mostly yellowish white, the upperparts shades of green
Diet mainstay is fruit any very few insects.
