The Northern Mockingbird is the only mockingbird commonly found in North America. It is known for its ability to mimic other bird calls. It can also imitate other animals and mechanical sounds such as car alarms. Their vocalizations are quite loud.
Northern Mockingbirds eat mostly insects in summer. In fall and winter they switch to eating mostly fruit.
