The Red-billed Blue Magpie is found in northwest India, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, southern China and Mongolia. Other names for this bird include Blue Magpie and Red-billed Magpie. Their head is black with a bluish spot on the crown. The upperparts are bluish and the underparts are white. The tail is blue with a broad white tip. The bill, legs, feet and eye-ring are bright orange-red.
Diet includes invertebrates, small, land-leeches, tree-frogs, small lizards, and some seeds. They will also eat the eggs and chicks of other birds.
