The Crimson-breasted Finch is also known as the Crimson Finch and the Crimson Finch-tanager. They are found in western Ecuador and northwestern Peru. They are sexually dimorphic. Males have reddish underparts and black upperparts with a red crown. Females are brownish and pale yellow.
Diet includes seeds and small arthropods.
