The Red-bellied Woodpecker is mostly found in the Eastern half of the U.S. including parts of Texas. The Red-bellied part of its name is some what of a misnomer since they do not have a lot of red on their bellies. They eat insects, fruits, nuts and seeds. They can catch insects while flying.
