White Cockatoo - Cacatua alba

The White Cockatoo is also known as the Umbrella Cockatoo and is endemic to Indonesia. This bird is highly intelligent and is much in demand for pets. It is illegal to trap it for cage-bird trade.

Diet includes berries, seeds, nuts, fruit and roots. During nesting they will also eat insects and their larvae. I found them in the wild at the Lyon Arboretum on Oahu. Their very load screeching sound caught my attention.
