The Yellow-headed Amazon is also known as the Yellow-headed Parrot and the Double Yellow-headed Amazon. They are part of the Amazona ochrocephaia complex which includes the Yellow-napped Amazon. They are found in Mexico and Central America
Part of the reason for this species being endangered is the pet trade. They are popular because they "talk" best and they can learn songs including opera.
