The Crowned Lapwing is also known as the Crowned Plover. They are found throughout eastern and southern Africa. The sexes are similar but males are slightly larger.
Diet incudes insects (e.g., termites, beetles, grasshoppers, crickets and ants) and their larvae. They are most active at dusk.
