Roseate Spoonbills are found in coastal Texas, Louisiana, and Florida. They are also found in parts of Mexico and South America. In the U.S., one of the best places to see them nesting is Bird Island near Galveston, Texas.

Diet includes small fish, amphibians, aquatic invertebrates and some plant material. They capture prey by swinging their partially submerged bill back and forth. When they sense suitable prey, they close their bill and swallow it.
