Snowy Egrets are gorgeous small herons that are found through the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean, and most of South America except for the Andes. Besides being smaller than Great Egrets, their bill is black (instead of yellow) and they feet are yellow instead of black. In breeding season the feathers on the back look like plumes.
They eat fish, crustaceans, and insects by stalking their prey in shallow waters.
