The Golden Pheasant is found in forested mountainous areas of western China, but feral populations are found in the Americas, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The measurements above do not include the tail which is approx 70cm for the mail and 35 for the female. The males are the spectacular golden and red color. Females are mostly various shades of brown and beige. Diet is primarily leaves and tender shoots of shrubs, flowers and some insects.
