The Ring-necked Pheasant is also called the Common Pheasant.
They are native to Asia and were introduced
to North America as a game bird.
I have seen them at the Sacramento Wildlife Refuge.
When I was there in April, 2009, the ranger said that their numbers
seemed to be declining and they didn't know why.
