The Spotted Dove is native to the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia. They have been introduced to most of the rest of the world. The sexes are similar but there is a lot of variation among the species. Its white spots on black make it easy to identify.
Spotted Doves forage on the ground for grass seeds, grains, fallen fruits, and seeds from other plants. They also sometimes eat insects.
