The Arctic Tern migrates the most distance of any animal. They breed in the northern reaches of Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Europe and Asia. They then migrate to the Antarctica for winter. This is the longest regular migration by any known animal. Many Arctic Terns live long lives (30 years). They forage by both diving and surface-dipping for small fish, crustaceans, and other invertebrates.
