The Trumpeter Swan is the largest native Northern American waterfowl. Their numbers were seriously depleted due to hunting for their skins and feathers. Their numbers have since increased due to protection from hunting.
Trumpeter Swans mainly eat submerged and emergent vegetation. They also will eat fish and fish eggs.
